HOW-TO Care for Books
Information & 21st Skill Objectives:
I. Inquire- C. Share: (3) Acting on feedback to improve
D.Grow: (4) Using reflection to guide informed decisions
AASL.I.B.3 Inquire: Create: 3- Learners engage with new knowledge by following a process that includes generating products that illustrate learning.
AASL.V.A.1 Explore: Think: 1- Learners develop and satisfy personal curiosity by reading widely and deeply in multiple formats and write and create for a variety of purposes.
Materials:
Paper/pencil (if needed)
Computers
Slideshow/Powerpoint (optional)
Instructional Procedures:
1. The librarian will greet students as they walk in and sit in their seats
2. The librarian will discuss proper book care behaviors and show a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXYSQ2IOI_E
3. The librarian will have students take a quiz on book care- https://quizizz.com/admin/quiz/5d0a8e7a286234001ad69a1c/book-care
4. Students will independently complete quiz
5. If time allows, students may share one way they will take care of their books

Reflection discussion
Assessment:
Students will ask relevant questions about book care and answer book care questions correctly.
