GUESS THE BOOK
Information & 21st Skill Objectives:
I. INQUIRE: A. Think: 2. Recalling prior background knowledge as context for new meaning.
B. Create: 1. Using evidence to investigate questions
V. EXPLORE: A. Think: 3. Engaging in inquiry-based processes for personal growth
D. Grow: 2. Recognizing capabilities and skills that can be
developed, improved, and expanded
Materials:
Projection devices such as a projector or Smart board/Smart TV
Guess the Book quiz for each student (this can be online such as doing a Kahoot! game or on paper)
Instructional Procedures:
1. The librarian will greet students as they walk in and sit at the tables
2. The librarian will identify the objection of the lesson
3. The librarian will do a practice run with the students; the quiz is a set of emojis and the students are trying to guess what the title of the book is (difficulty level is based on you the librarian)
4. Students will complete the Guess the Book quiz (this can be multiple short quizzes on Kahoot or a long quiz on paper), the librarian will review the answers
5. If time allows, students will be encouraged to select a book from the Guess the Book quiz

Assessment:
Students demonstrate their general knowledge of the books by using the clues (emojis)
to guess what the title of the book may be and try to guess accurately
*This can can be a great time to get students to check out or return books
