Library/Information Skills Lesson Plan
Information & 21st Skill Objectives:
I. INQUIRE: B. Create: 1. Using evidence to investigate questions

V. EXPLORE: A. Think: 3. Engaging in inquiry-based processes for personal growth
Materials:
Projection devices such as a projector or Smart board/Smart TV
Computers
Students email (students can be assisted or they can do do this on their own depending on their age)
Instructional Procedures:
1. The librarian will greet students as they walk in and sit at the tables
2. The librarian will identify the objection of the lesson
3. The librarian will explain to students that it is usually tradition for kids to send letters to Santa, but now, with modern day technology it's easier to send an email!
4. The librarian will demonstrate how to access the website and the steps to writing the email to Santa
5. Students will independently work on their email (letter) to Santa)
6. If time allows, give students a candy cane or small stocking for participating

Assessment:
Students demonstrate knowledge of completing a full letter to someone with complete sentences and punctuation.
Students develop their understanding of how to write a letter and address an email to someone.
